Support the Tenacity Student Award Fund
With the introduction of patient care and a heavy courseload, the second-year DMD students at UK College of Dentistry juggle multiple demands on their time. During second year, students move from working in collaboration with a fourth-year dental student to having their own patients, including their first denture patient. Students also start seeing the knowledge learned in the classroom actually implemented in planning treatment and providing care. Balancing classes, labs, clinical care and family obligations can become overwhelming. Students need your encouragement to keep going.
The College of Dentistry is launching a Tenacity Award for second-year DMD students in good standing. Through this award, alumni will come together to encourage second-year students to press onward towards becoming a dentist. The goal is to raise enough funds to give $1,000 to each student in good standing. An alumnus has offered to match every donation up to a total of $10,000. Your gift can be double by accessing this match. Please support UKCD’s second-year students and let them know that you are behind them in their goal of becoming a dentist.
Your Gift Will Be Matched!
Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Jackie Banahan '79, the first $10,000 given to the Tenacity Student Award Fund will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar!
