Funkhouser Renovation Fund

The Funkhouser Building has been an iconic landmark on our campus for generations. Over its 80-year history, it has housed biological sciences, Undergraduate Admissions, the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Billing and more.

The Pigman College of Engineering is now taking next steps in advancing the historic building's potential with a renovation and modernization project. The new Funkhouser Building will be the central engineering hub for our students, creating a gateway between the academic and healthcare campuses. This gateway will launch a new chapter in our college’s history: Engineering for Human Health.

The reimagined Funkhouser Building is entirely student focused. It will house a new state-of-the-art makerspace, areas dedicated to student design projects, competitive teams, student organizations and much needed classroom space. It will also house the F. Joseph Halcomb III, M.D. Department of Biomedical Engineering, and other interdisciplinary research groups of students and faculty.

For 24 hours, we’re calling on all alumni, friends, faculty and staff to spread the word about this important project. It only takes One Day to truly make a difference for our students; those here today and in the decades to come.
