Michael D. Rankin MD Health Education Building

Kentucky needs health care more than just about any state. But because our health care workforce is shrinking, a healthier, wealthier Kentucky is unlikely to be realized without a transformation in how we educate health professionals.

Our vision for the new Michael D. Rankin MD Health Education Building is to co-locate four health-related colleges and the Center for Interprofessional and Community Health Education to learn, collaborate and together solve the health problems that impede economic growth and personal prosperity. With the construction of this building, more students will graduate thinking of health and medicine in a different way, with the skills to innovate how we create a healthier, more work-ready Kentucky.

This project will provide space for more than 1,200 additional students. And because most of our graduates stay in Kentucky, we will build a workforce of Kentuckians for Kentuckians in rural and urban communities alike.
